Payroll Compliance Executive

Run statutory payroll compliance calendars and payroll control testing for our clients across multiple Indian states.

LocationHyderabad (hybrid)
Salary band₹4.2–6.0 LPA
Experience2–4 years
ContractFull-time, permanent

The statutory calendar

Payroll deadlines do not negotiate. Provident fund, ESI, professional tax, labour welfare fund and TDS each land on fixed dates across several states, and a missed one turns into interest, penalty and an inspection conversation within a quarter. The calendar is the control, and in this role you own it.

Each of your clients gets one: what is due, to whom, by when, and which document proves it was done. You keep it current as headcount, states and statutes change.

What lands on your desk

  • Maintain statutory compliance calendars covering provident fund, ESI, professional tax, labour welfare fund and TDS obligations across states.
  • Verify payroll inputs, statutory deductions and remittance evidence against the agreed control checklist each cycle.
  • Prepare and review returns and challans, and maintain the supporting documentation file for each filing.
  • Investigate and document exceptions — missed deadlines, mismatched registers, incorrect deductions — and track remediation to closure.
  • Support statutory inspections and client audits by assembling requested records.
  • Advise client HR teams on record retention, joiner and leaver documentation, and segregation of payroll duties.

Background we need

  • 2–4 years in payroll processing, payroll compliance, HR operations or statutory compliance in India.
  • Working knowledge of Indian statutory payroll obligations, including PF, ESI, PT and TDS on salaries.
  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, HR, business administration or a related field.
  • Confident Excel skills and experience with at least one payroll or HRMS platform.
  • Precision with numbers and deadlines — payroll compliance has fixed dates that do not move.

Nice to have: multi-state payroll exposure, experience supporting a statutory inspection, or a diploma in labour law.

Pay, leave and benefits

  • ₹4.2–6.0 LPA depending on experience, reviewed annually.
  • Hybrid working from Hyderabad, typically three days in office.
  • Portfolio ownership rather than single-process work — you see the whole compliance cycle.
  • Statutory benefits, provident fund, 12 days casual and sick leave, 18 days earned leave.
  • Sponsored training on statutory updates and labour law changes.
